We asked twelve couples what actually moves between their two homes. Nobody said a gift.
What people carry
The list came back almost identical across four continents: a book with someone else’s notes in the margin, a jumper that belongs to nobody now, a bad photograph, a key that opens a door eight thousand kilometres away.
Why it beats the flight
A flight is an event. An object is a Tuesday. Six of the twelve couples told us the same thing in different words: the trip is what you plan, and the object is what gets you to it.
