What the reveal actually does
One question a day, chosen for the two of you. You answer whenever you can. Your answer stays private until your person replies — then the light gathers and both open together.
That single rule removes the thing that makes long-distance messaging tiring: the sense that someone is always behind. Nobody reads ahead, nobody performs for an audience of one who already replied, and nobody is told that the other person is waiting on them.
The nights nobody answers
Nothing happens. Resting today keeps your streak safe, there is no relationship score, and neither of you gets a notification about the other one being late.
A ritual you can skip is a ritual you can keep.
The prompts that survive a year are the ones that survive a bad week. We would rather you skip four nights and come back than answer four nights out of guilt.
